Precautions for use and maintenance of weighing instrument

Time:2021-04-22 11:17:31

The weighing instruments used in electronic weighing instruments belong to the category of precision instruments. Installation, use, and maintenance must be done in accordance with the requirements in the manual to ensure the safety, normality and accuracy of the instruments. Otherwise, the instrument may be damaged or its service life may be shortened.

1. Installation: Generally, the instrument should be placed in a clean, dry, ventilated, and suitable temperature environment. The position of the instrument should be fixed and do not move frequently, otherwise it may cause the internal lead of the signal cable plug to fall off and cause malfunction.

2. Power supply: most weighing instruments (such as 8142, 8530, etc.) use 220 volt AC power, and the allowable voltage range is generally 187 volts ---242 volts. After changing the power supply circuit, remember to measure whether the voltage meets the requirements before energizing the meter. If the 380V power supply is mistakenly connected to the meter, it may cause damage. Where the power supply voltage fluctuates greatly, a voltage stabilizer with good performance (such as a CW AC parameter voltage stabilizer) should be equipped to ensure the normal use of the instrument. Do not use the same power socket with strong interference sources (such as electric motors, electric bells, fluorescent lamps) to avoid unstable display values. Some meters (such as HAWK meter, etc.) are AC and DC dual purpose. When using dry batteries, please note that battery leakage will damage the meter. When the battery is not used for a long time, the battery should be removed.

3. Grounding: The weighing instrument should be connected to an independent and good grounding wire (ground resistance <4 ohms, the grounding lead should be as short as possible). The grounding wire has a dual function: it not only protects the personal safety of the operator, but also has an important anti-interference effect. It can ensure the stable operation of the meter. The ground wire is connected to the meter power socket. If the meter ground wire is connected to a public strong The electric protection ground wire may cause power interference to the meter and cause the display value of the meter to fluctuate. Regularly check whether the ground connection point is in good contact. Because after a long period of time, the connection points will be oxidized, rust, etc., which will make the meter actually inoperative.

4. Sun protection: Avoid direct sunlight on the black casing of the instrument, otherwise the working environment of the instrument may exceed the rated temperature range and be damaged.

5. Waterproof: Under normal circumstances, although the humidity of the instrument's working environment can reach 95%, it is stipulated that no condensation can occur. Except the special stainless steel case meter with waterproof function.

6. Anti-corrosion: Corrosive substances cannot penetrate into the inside of the instrument, otherwise it will corrode the components on the circuit board and the circuit board itself. Over time, the instrument may be scrapped. Even the instrument with anti-corrosion function will have the same result if it is not tightly sealed.

7. Anti-lightning strike: Electronic weighing instrument is a weak current system, and it is easy to be attacked by thunder and lightning to damage its components. Thunder and lightning enter the instrument mainly from two aspects: it is led by the power cord and by the weighing platform through the signal cable. Under normal weather, the operator only needs to manipulate the power switch, but in the case of possible short-distance lightning strikes, the power plug of the instrument and the signal cable plug of the weighing platform must be unplugged. Take anti-lightning measures, such as adding an anti-surge protector to the power circuit of the instrument.

8. Anti-strong current: The live wire of 220 volts or more is accidentally connected to the weighing platform or the weighing platform is used as the ground wire, and the electric welding operation on the weighing platform may damage the instrument.

9. Cleaning: In an industrial environment, there will be dust or contamination on the instrument shell, and it must be cleaned with a wet cloth frequently when the power is off. But be careful not to wipe the display window with solvents such as alcohol, as this will deteriorate the light transmission performance and the display will be blurred.

10. Anti-static: once the meter is damaged, it must be repaired. In order to speed up the back and forth transmission, some units like to remove the PCB board of the meter and send it by express mail, which causes an anti-static problem. When taking the PCB board, hold the four corners of the board, and do not touch the place with integrated block pins. Because it is easy for static electricity to damage the integrated block. The removed PCB board should be put into a shielding bag immediately, and can be wrapped with ordinary newspaper if there is no shielding bag. If the board is placed on a high-insulation desktop, it may damage the PCB board. When you receive the repaired PCB board and need to reload it into the instrument, you should also pay attention to anti-static.

11. Anti-vibration: When transporting the instrument, place it in the original packing box, or take appropriate anti-vibration measures.

12. Explosion-proof: If the instrument is used in a composite or intrinsically safe explosion-proof system, the relevant regulations for explosion-proof should be followed.

13. Responsibilities: Electronic weighing apparatus is a relatively advanced weighing system, which should be operated and maintained by trained personnel. At present, most weighing instruments determine the function and performance of the weighing instrument through parameter setting and calibration on the software. Once these parameters are arbitrarily changed, it may affect the accuracy and functions of the weighing (such as no printing or no communication, etc.). Therefore, it is also very important to determine the respective responsibilities of operators and maintenance personnel.
